Firefighter injured in blaze that destroyed Mexican restaurant in Provo

A firefighter was slightly injured while fighting a fire that destroyed the Los Hermanos restaurant in Provo on Monday night.

According to the Provo Fire and Rescue, the three-alarm fire began in the basement of the restaurant at 71 E. Center St., at about 7 p.m. The business is believed to be a total loss from fire and water damage. The cause of the fire is under investigation.

The firefighter had minor injuries after falling down a flight of stairs and was treated and released from a local hospital.

The blaze closed down Center Street between University Avenue and 100 East.
