South Salt Lake police are investigating after a Christmas morning shooting leaves one man injured

A man was shot in the leg in a Christmas Day shooting in Salt South Lake — but police officials believe he’ll survive.

Police said Tuesday that the 25-year-old was shot just after 11 a.m. outside the Eight Twenty Apartments located at 846 West Timbercreek Way.

The shooting erupted following a “confrontation” between the man and a group of people outside of the apartment complex. The man was taken to a local hospital in good condition, according to a news release.

No other details were released Tuesday, and police are now investigating.
