A former on-air personality for KSL’s morning show has pleaded guilty to driving under the influence of alcohol and was sentenced to probation.

Casey Scott was arrested in September after he was involved in a car crash and a Utah Highway Patrol trooper noted Scott’s breath smelled like alcohol. There were also open containers of beer in his car.

In November, Scott pleaded guilty to misdemeanor DUI and was sentenced to a year of probation. A judge also sentenced Scott to 35 days in jail, but he won’t spend any time behind bars. Instead, the judge gave him credit for time served because he had been in an inpatient treatment center.

Charges of drinking alcohol in a vehicle and improper lane use were dismissed as part of a plea deal.

Scott began working at KSL earlier this year, and a story on the television station’s website confirms he is no longer employed there. He previously worked at KUTV.

This isn’t Scott’s first DUI conviction. In 2015, he faced similar charges in Summit County, accused of drinking alcohol in a vehicle and failing to stay in one lane. He pleaded no contest to impaired driving. He was ordered to complete 24 hours of community service and was on probation for six months.
