Bountiful • Authorities say three people are dead after a wrong-way crash on Interstate 15 early Friday morning.

The Utah Highway Patrol says a pickup traveling north entered southbound lanes in Bountiful and collided with a car, killing the pickup’s driver and a man and a woman in the car.

Fox 13 reports that the two in the car have been identified as 23-year-old Samantha Sanchez of West Jordan and 40-year-old Paul Joseph Durocher of Draper. The name of the driver of the pickup truck has not been released.

The Highway Patrol says an investigation into circumstances of the crash is in its early stages.
