(Trent Nelson | The Salt Lake Tribune) One person was killed, and several injured, when a car drove into a Starbucks parking lot and onto a patio Friday, June 8, 2018 in Holladay.

Police released the name of the Utah man who crashed his pickup truck into an outside cafe table at a Millcreek Starbucks on Friday, killing one and critically injuring himself and two others.

West Walker, 34, was driving the truck that killed therapist Joslyn Nicole Spilsbury, 48, and injured the two others sitting at the table with her. The crash happened about 9:15 a.m. at 4744 S. Highland Drive.

Officers are still investigating what caused Walker, of Oakley, to speed through a parking lot, cross a street, strike a curb and then careen into the table. Initial evidence indicates he might have a medical condition that caused the crash, Unified Police Department spokeswoman Melody Gray said.

Police are waiting for the results of his toxicology report before releasing an official cause, Gray said.

Walker, who was conscious when first responders found him at the crash site, was taken to the hospital in critical condition. As of Saturday evening, Gray said he was still in the hospital. Two children who were in the truck during the crash are OK, police have said.

Of the two others who were critically injured, only one remains in the hospital. That person is still considered critical. The other has since been released, Gray said.
