(South Jordan Police) The South Jordan Police Department is asking for help identifying two juveniles who stole handguns from Sportsman’s Warehouse at 10462 S. River Heights Drive.

The 12- and 15-year-old entered the store at 10462 S. River Heights Drive at 6 p.m. Saturday and went to the gun storage area. Each took a handgun and concealed it under his clothes. One also stole ammunition before the two exited the store, police spokesman Lt. Matt Pennington said.

The theft was detected on Tuesday and reported to police, with accompanying surveillance video.

Police first arrested the older boy, and the younger, accompanied by his parents, turned himself into police Wednesday evening. Both could face 2nd-degree felony gun theft charges, Pennington said.

Officers still are searching for the stolen guns, Pennington said.
