St. George man armed with two kitchen knives attempts to rob pizza delivery woman, but flees when she sparks a stungun

A 20-year-old man painted his face and tried to steal a Dominos order from a pizza delivery woman in St. George early on Monday morning.

The man was later arrested and charged in 5th District Court with aggravated robbery, a first-degree felony; aggravated assault, third-degree felony; and failure to stop at the command of a law enforcement officer, a class A misdemeanor.

Around 1:30 a.m. on Monday, the woman was walking back to her car after no one answered the door where she was trying to deliver an order, according to court documents.

Someone — with dark face paint on — approached her and asked about the pizza, court paper states. She asked if he could pay for it. He couldn’t, he said, then pulled out two kitchen knives.

“He told her to ‘put the food down, and no one would get hurt,’ ” court papers state.

As she walked away, toward her car, he kicked her hip. She pulled out a stun gun and “sparked it,” and he ran, according to court documents.

She called police, who arrived and searched the area. Officers found a man who matched the description, but he ran. He was found underneath a car and arrested.

The man, who lives near where the robbery occurred, told police he could not remember anything that happened, court papers state.

He was booked into Washington County jail and released from custody after posting $26,950 bail.
