‘Behind the Headlines’: Kennedy defeats Romney at a tense GOP convention, and the Utah Jazz try to end their playoff series with the Oklahoma City Thunder

(Leah Hogsten | The Salt Lake Tribune) U. S. Senate candidate Mitt Romney delivers his speech to the delegates at the Utah Republican Nominating Convention on Saturday, April 21, 2018, at the Maverik Center.

Rep. Michael Kennedy, R-Alpine, bested Mitt Romney in the GOP convention last weekend and will face off with him in the primary election. The tension between conservative and moderate Republicans worked up the convention into a tense marathon of a meeting. And the Utah Jazz gear up for Game 6 against the Oklahoma City Thunder.

At 9 a.m. Friday, Salt Lake Tribune reporters Lee Davidson, Taylor Anderson and Kyle Goon, as well as columnist Robert Gehrke, join KCPW’s Roger McDonough to talk about the week’s top stories.
