Utah politicians remembered Barbara Bush after her death on Tuesday as witty, and they said her eloquence and commitment to her family and country inspired the nation.

Bush, wife of President George H. W. Bush, died Tuesday, two days after a spokesman announced that she wouldn’t seek further medical treatment after a series of hospitalizations and would, instead, focus on “comfort care.”

Here’s how Utah politicians remembered the former first lady and mother of President George W. Bush:

Sen. Orrin Hatch, via a statement:

“Today, we lost a woman of wit, grace, humility, and humor. Through the eloquence of her example, Barbara Bush inspired us all to be the best version of ourselves. I count myself lucky to have known Barbara and even luckier to have called her a friend. Tonight, my prayers are with the Bush family and all those who were touched by the life of this remarkable woman.”
