Hildale, Utah • Washington County authorities say they're still determined to find the body of a 6-year-old Hildale boy who apparently drowned in last month's flash flood.

Darrell Cashin, sheriff's liaison to the search and rescue team, told county commissioners this week that recent heavy rains may have changed conditions in Short Creek to make it easier to find Tyson Black.

The boy has been missing since he and 15 of his family members were washed into a deadly flood channel inside two vehicles..

Three boys were found alive but 12 victims were discovered over the next several days as far as 7 miles downstream.

The (St. George) Spectrum reports that Cashin told the commission Tuesday last weekend's flooding may have carved out the waterways and surrounding landscape where they hope to resume the search.
