The Paramount Network is out with a new trailer for its upcoming series “Yellowstone” — which was filmed largely in Utah — and the two-minute clip is a clear indication of where the series is headed.

We’ve known for months that the series centers on the character of John Dutton (Oscar-winner Kevin Costner), the powerful owner of the largest contiguous ranch in the United States. The trailer shows us Dutton in conflict with land developers, American Indians, members of his family and more. And it gives us a taste of the cinematic quality of the 10-episode first season, which was created, written and directed by Oscar-nominated Taylor Sheridan (“Wind River,” “Hell or High Water”).

Yellowstone” is scheduled to premiere Wednesday, June 20, on the Paramount Network — the channel formerly known as Spike.

(Rick Egan | The Salt Lake Tribune) Stage crews prepare to shoot a helicopter scene for the upcoming Paramount Network series "Yellowstone" on a soundstage at Utah Film Studios in Park City. The series stars Oscar-winner Kevin Costner, who is also an executive producer, as the patriarch of a family that owns the largest contiguous ranch in the United States, which borders on Yellowstone National Park.
