Those traveling in southern Utah over Thanksgiving weekend might want to consider stopping in Kanab on Nov. 25.

That’s when the town on the Utah-Arizona border will be holding its ninth annual Christmas Light Parade and Festival.

The parade includes floats made by community residents and businesses, with this year’s theme of “Remember When. …”

The parade will begin at 7 p.m.

After the parade, there will be entertainment on Main Street as well as free hot chocolate and doughnuts. “Star Wars” characters will be posing with families for photos after the parade.

There will be a free s’mores school at 7:30 p.m. A wishing lantern launch in front of the courthouse is scheduled at 8:30 p.m.

Other Kanab events that weekend include Best Friends Animal Society’s Black Friday Adoption Event on Nov. 24 and 25 and free photos with Santa at Best Friends Nov. 25 from 4:30 to 6 p.m.

A Dine Around Kanab event is scheduled Nov. 24.
