Are you a summer intern? Are you fetching coffee? Answering phones? Hiking a trail that once helped kill 44 people?
The Bureau of Land Management on Tuesday sent four interns to retrace the steps of the Donner Party in Utah's West Desert, according to the @BLMUtah Twitter account. Yes, that Donner Party.
The Donner Party suffered their causalities in California, but it can be argued their real problems began in Utah. And those problems are what the BLM says the interns, plus a support and film crew, are retracing.
From the looks of the tweeted photos, it looks like the interns are having a good time.
Full of youthful enthusiasm, they set out on their journey across the Great Salt Desert. #DonnerParty #HastingsCutoff pic.twitter.com/fLNgE3gwdH
I hope none of the interns are named Hastings.
