This past December, Deer Valley Resort in Park City severed ties with the Park City Institute and its outdoor St. Regis Big Stars Bright Nights concert series after 14 years.

This week, it announced its replacement.

While St. Regis Big Stars Bright Nights heads elsewhere, Deer Valley’s 5,000-capacity Snow Park Outdoor Amphitheater will now host the inaugural Deer Valley Concert Series, presented by Deer Valley Resort in conjunction with The State Room Presents. The five-show slate will kick off Aug. 2 with The Decemberists, and will conclude on Labor Day, Sept. 3 with Jason Mraz.

In between will be Gavin DeGraw and Phillip Phillips on Aug. 9, Lukas Nelson & Promise of the Real and M. Ward on Aug. 18, and Gov’t Mule on Aug. 31.

Tickets will go on sale Friday, May 11 at 10 a.m. and will be available for purchase at deervalleyconcertseries.com.

“As home to one of Utah’s premier outdoor music venues, we are thrilled to be able to program our own concert series for the first time in the venue’s existence,” Bob Wheaton, Deer Valley Resort’s president and COO, said in a prepared statement.

Three types of tickets are available for each show: reserved, general admission floor (blankets-only area directly in front of the stage), and general admission lawn (divided into two sections with chairs allowed on one side and blankets on the other). All concerts are held rain or shine. Attendees can bring picnics, blankets and chairs less than nine inches high. Free parking is available at Snow Park Lodge.

The Utah Symphony’s annual Deer Valley Music Festival will still take place at Deer Valley’s amphitheater. The orchestra announced its 2018 lineup in March, which will include Broadway star Kristin Chenoweth, folk-rocker Amos Lee, bluegrass legend Ricky Skaggs, and rocker Rick Springfield.
