Dylan’s ‘North Country’

The national touring production of the Broadway musical “Girl From the North Country” will be staged at the Eccles Theater, 131 S. Main St., Salt Lake City, starting Tuesday through next Sunday, June 16. The musical is set amid the people in a boarding house in Minnesota during the Great Depression, and features more than 20 songs by Bob Dylan. Showtimes are 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday; 8 p.m. on Friday; 2 and 8 p.m. on Saturday; and 1 and 6:30 p.m. on Sunday, June 16. Call her Miss Jackson

Pop icon Janet Jackson is performing on her “Together Again” tour, which is scheduled to make a stop Friday at Utah First Credit Union Amphitheatre, 5150 S. 6055 West, West Valley City. According to a review of another tour stop, Jackson has curated a playlist that includes such hits as “Rhythm Nation,” “Miss You Much,” “Nasty” and “What Have You Done For Me Lately?” The rapper/singer Nelly is the opening act; the show is set to start at 8 p.m. Tickets are available at livenation.com.

Salt Lake’s got the blues

The Utah Blues Festival, a two-day celebration of blues music, is set for Friday and Saturday at Gallivan Center, 239 S. Main St., Salt Lake City. Performances run from 5 to 10 p.m. Friday, with blues guitarist Tab Benoit as the headliner; Saturday’s shows go from noon to 10 p.m., capped by the blues/soul band Southern Avenue in the headlining spot.
