Look Ahead: Local events and things to do this week, September 1-7

Post Malone’s truck arrives before his tour starts; three shows at Utah First; and Tucker Carlson at Delta Center.

(Drewby Perez | Republic Records) British alt-pop band Glass Animals is scheduled to headline at Utah First Credit Union Amphitheatre on Thursday, Sept. 5, 2024.

Sept. 1-7

Post Malone’s truck

A pickup truck parked in front of a chicken restaurant isn’t usually stop-the-presses news. This week, though, it’s not any truck and not any chicken restaurant. From Sunday through Saturday, the 1971 Ford F-150 featured on the cover of Utah-based musician Post Malone’s upcoming country-style album, “F-1 Trillion,” will be on display in front of the Raising Cane’s at 890 E. Fort Union Blvd. in Midvale — the restaurant designed by Posty himself, with portraits of his face on the outside walls in black and hot pink. The truck will then move over to Utah First Credit Union Amphitheatre, where Post Malone is launching his U.S. tour with shows on Sunday and Monday, Sept. 8 and 9.

Sept. 5, 6, 7

A trio of shows at Utah First

Three shows close out the week at Utah First Credit Union Amphitheatre, 5150 Upper Ridge Road, West Valley City: Thursday night brings the alt-pop band Glass Animals, with Eyedress opening; Friday features veteran rock band Creed, with 3 Doors Down and Finger Eleven in support; and Saturday’s headliner is country star Jason Aldean, with Hailey Whitters, Chase Matthew, Austin Snell and Dee Jay Silver rounding out the bill. Tickets available via LiveNation.com.

Sept. 7

A lot of talking at Delta Center

Tucker Carlson isn’t known as a guitar god or a three-point shooter — the types of people who usually attract a crowd to the Delta Center. So what is the conservative commentator and ex-Fox News host going to do when he headlines there on Saturday? Among other things, he’s scheduled to talk onstage to another former Fox star, Glenn Beck. The show starts at 7 p.m. at the Delta Center, 301 W. South Temple, Salt Lake City. Tickets are available at deltacenter.com.
