Kristin Chenoweth dazzles in Christmas concert with Tabernacle Choir

Leah Hogsten | The Salt Lake Tribune Kristin Chenoweth performs with The Tabernacle Choir during the first of three sold-out Christmas concert performances Thursday, December 13, 2018 at the The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints Conference Center in Salt Lake City.

Singer Kristin Chenoweth, as promised, didn’t let Utah’s altitude keep her from putting on a show Thursday night with The Tabernacle Choir at Temple Square, in the first of the choir’s annual series of Christmas concerts.

The Broadway star — best known for originating the role of Glinda in “Wicked” — sang, danced and took the narrator role in the choir’s traditional Christmas production at the Conference Center at Temple Square.

Chenoweth and the choir perform again Friday and Saturday nights, and at a special “Music and the Spoken Word” broadcast Sunday morning. Tickets have already been distributed, but stand-by tickets are available for those willing to wait in line. Details are available at the Tabernacle Choir’s website.
