Rock-star violinist Lindsey Stirling is touring North America this fall — including a show in her old stomping grounds of Utah County.

Stirling will perform Tuesday, Oct. 4, at the UCCU Center in Orem.

Stirling studied filmmaking at Brigham Young University — taking time out for her LDS mission in New York. She left school when her music career took off, but returned last year to get a bachelor's degree in recreation management.

The pint-sized, flame-haired violinist got her big break on "America's Got Talent." She became an internet sensation with her videos, which mixed dubstep musical style with her fierce dance moves.

Early this year, Stirling relased her autobiography, "The Only Pirate at the Party" (co-authored by her sister, Brooke S. Passey). In the book, Stirling discusses her childhood, her "America's Got Talent" run, and her battle with anorexia.

Stirling's third studio album, "Brave Enough," is set to be released August 19. The first single, "The Arena," is already out. (Watch the video above.)

Tickets for Stirling's Orem show, from $37 to $47, go on sale Friday at 10 a.m., via Smith's Tix.
