(Rick Egan | The Salt Lake Tribune) Utah Utes quarterback Tyler Huntley (1) looks for an open man in the end zone, in football action BYU vs Utah, at Lavell Edwards Stadium in Provo, Saturday, September 9, 2017.

Utah’s 2018 football schedule was released Thursday morning by the Pac-12, and the 12-game slate includes contests against in-state foes Weber State and BYU.

The Utah-BYU rivalry game in Salt Lake City will conclude Utah’s regular season next year.

The last time the schools played the formerly traditional season-ending rivalry game in November was 2010.

The Utes will open the 2018 season at home against Weber State on Thursday, Aug. 30. The game will mark the first of six home games at Rice-Eccles Stadium. The list of opponents who will visit Salt Lake City includes Pac-12 competitors Washington (Sept. 15), Arizona (Oct. 12), USC (Oct. 20) and Oregon (Nov. 10). The game against Arizona will be on a Friday.

The Utes’ only nonconference road game comes in the second week of the season against Northern Illinois (Sept. 8) as part of a home-and-home series. They’ll play Pac-12 road games against Washington State (Sept. 29), Stanford (Oct. 6), UCLA (Oct. 26), Arizona State (Nov. 3) and Colorado (Nov. 17). The game at UCLA will be played on a Friday.

The Utes will not play Pac-12 members California and Oregon State for the second consecutive year.

Next year’s Pac-12 championship game will take place Nov. 30.
