Rain, thunder, a brief sunny break; repeat.

There's your forecast for the Wasatch Front through the remainder of the week.

After heavy rains soaked northern Utah Tuesday, Wednesday dawned with showers during the commute en route to a forecast for sunshine and breaking cloud cover and high temperatures near 60 degrees. However, renewed storm clouds with intermittent showers were predicted by late afternoon.

Thursday morning, too, will bring rain, and thunderstorms will punctuate the precipitation in the breezy afternoon and evening hours. Highs will be in the mid-50s both Thursday and again on Friday, which will be mostly clear.

The midweek's rainfall was expected to be especially heavy in northeastern Weber County, earning that area along the south fork of the Ogden River a Flood Warning from the National Weather Service. That advisory remains in place through 5 p.m. Thursday.

Southern Utahns looked for the low-80s under sun-drenched skies on a windy Thursday, a repeat of Wednesday's forecast. Friday will be a bit cooler, in the mid-70s, but Utah's Dixie still will enjoy bright, clear horizons.

The Utah Division of Air Quality gave near-universal "green," or healthy grades to the state through Thursday. Washington County, with a "yellow," or moderate level of particulate pollution, was the sole exception.

The Intermountain Allergy & Asthma website noted that mulberry and cedar pollen levels were "very high" as of Wednesday, while sycamore, oak, birch and maple were "high" and cottonwood and mold came in at "moderate."
