Rain clouds, thunder and lightning are on northern Utah's horizons as the new work week gets underway.

After Monday's partly cloudy skies and highs in the upper-60s, daytime temperatures will dip into the upper-50s as the Wasatch Front gets a thorough soaking on Tuesday. Wet weather will rule throughout Wednesday, too, with highs in the low-60s.

However, southern Utahns trade the rain for winds of 15-35 mph and partly cloudy skies clearing to sunny on Tuesday. Highs will be in the low-80s, matching Monday's forecast; Wednesday will bring temperatures a few degrees cooler under bright, clear skies.

The Utah Division of Air Quality handed out "green," or healthy grades statewide, with only Washington, Duchesne and Uintah counties the exceptions with "yellow," or compromised particulate pollution levels.

Did you wake sneezing and with dry, itching eyes? The Intermountain Allergy & Asthma website can tell you why: cottonwood, birch and ragweed all were at "high" on the pollen index as of Monday. Mulberry and maple came in at "moderate."
