The National Weather Service is predicting the hot weekend to continue for Utah, with the thermometer climbing above 100 in many locations.

Temperatures are expected to average 10 to 15 degrees above normal.

Southern Utah will sizzle: Saturday temperatures climbed to 108 in St. George, which is expected to see another high of 108 on Sunday.

Along the Wasatch Front, Salt Lake City hit 100 degrees on Saturday — a feat that, on average, doesn't occur until July 8, according to the National Weather Service. The forecast predicts a high of 102 on Sunday. Ogden will also see the mercury climb to 102, and Provo should hit 104.

Wendover also will see triple digits, with a high around 104 on Sunday, according to the weather service. The forecast calls for a high in the upper-90s for Logan and the mid-90s in Park City.

More hot temperatures are expected through the week.

The weather service is encouraging people to take precautions during the heat wave, including drinking plenty of water, minimizing sun exposure, wearing light clothing and postponing afternoon activities.

In addition, the weather service says, never leave children or pets in parked vehicles; even with windows open, temperatures will rise to dangerous levels.
