Harmon's is sponsoring the Community E-Scrap Collection Event from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday at six of its supermarket locations.

In partnership with Sims Metal Management, SWIFT and Special Olympics Utah, Harmon's will have staging areas with semitrailers or dumpsters in store parking lots to collect old electronic equipment for recycling.

All proceeds will be donated to Special Olympics Utah.

Accepted e-scrap includes all electronics such as computers and related components, TVs, DVD players, stereos, video game consoles, cables, cellphones and software. In addition, metals products will be collected, including washers, dryers, refrigerators, microwaves, metal shelving and metal car parts.

There is no fee for most items, with the exception of old tube TVs and CRT computer monitors. Vouchers of $10 for these items may be purchased in advance at all Harmon's customer service booths. Vouchers will cost $15 during the event. —
