Los Angeles — Jazz coach Jerry Sloan said that rookie forward Gordon Hayward will start tonight against the Clippers. He will replace injured forward Andrei Kirilenko.

Sloan was not optimistic about forward C.J. Miles (illness) taking the court, acknowledging that Utah could be severely shorthanded facing a Los Angeles team that has won five of its last six games. Sloan said that a shooting guard could have to fill in at the small forward position if Miles is unable to play.
