Weekly Run podcast: Did you enjoy Joel Embiid's antics, or did he cross the line with Donovan Mitchell?

Things have been tough for the Utah Jazz lately. Injuries — and injuries to key players — are mounting, forcing head coach Quin Snyder to look toward the end of his bench for help. The road has been Cormac-McCarthy levels of brutal. And, aside from an offensive explosion in their blowout win over Orlando, buckets have been hard to come by.

On this episode of the Weekly Run, the Tribune’s Jazz basketball podcast, we look at the highs and lows of the East Coast road trip, Rodney Hood’s new role as sixth man, Joel Embiid’s trash talking, and the end of Deron Williams’ career.

At 2:50 — Rodney Hood might not love his move to the bench, but it seems to be the right move for an offense that has struggled mightily.

At 9:00 — The Ringer just published a feature on Ricky Rubio, in which the Jazz point guard is brimming with confidence. “I don’t have doubts any more,” he’s quoted as saying. But, as Kyle points out, some other people in Jazzland do.

At 12:30 — Is Joel Embiid honestly worried about Rudy Gobert? And did he take things too far with his Donovan Mitchell taunt-and-flop?

At 20:00 — Deron Williams seems to be at peace with the fact that his NBA career could be over. How will Jazz fans view him now?
