The Los Angeles Angels will continue to stock the Salt Lake Bees' roster until 2014.
The two organizations signed a two-year Player Development Contract extension that will keep the Bees an Angels affiliate through the 2014 season.
"We are pleased to continue our relationship with the Angels," said Greg Miller, CEO of the Larry H. Miller Group of Companies. "I have the utmost respect for [L.A. general manager] Tony Reagins and the Angels organization. Having visited with Tony at Angel Stadium on several occasions, it is clear, from player development to stadium operations to fan relations, the Angels are a model franchise."
Salt Lake has spent nine seasons as the Angels' Triple-A affiliate. In that time, Salt Lake is 671-621. John Lackey, Ervin Santana and Joe Saunders are among the many Angels to play for Salt Lake.
The Angels' 40-man roster also includes Howie Kendrick, Kendry Morales, Jeff Mathis and Mike Napoli.
"This extension of our player development contract with Salt Lake through the 2014 season is the direct result of the tremendous professional relationship the Angels have with the Bees organization," said Angels Director of Player Development Abe Flores. "The Bees share our same ideals and commitment to being a first-class organization and we look forward to continued success in Salt Lake in the years to come."
