The decision to suspend Bronson Kaufusi, the Timpview football star, was reversed by the UHSAA late Wednesday afternoon, according to Timpview coach Louis Wong.

Kaufusi, one of the best defensive linemen in the state, was originally suspended for Friday's game against Orem as a result of last week's ejection versus Tooele when officials determined that he threw a punch at a Tooele player.

Timpview coaches vehemently objected to the ruling and sent game film to the UHSAA in hopes of seeing a reversal. However, the ruling was upheld as of Wednesday morning in part because no one had reviewed the game film.

The official who made the original call, according to Wong, reviewed the game film on Wednesday afternoon and made the call to reverse the decision.

"I'm very happy with the decision," Wong said. "It was human error, and I'm glad they got it right."
