I agree with Susan Christensen ("Crybaby secessionists," Forum, Nov. 28) about those who are signing petitions to have their state secede from the Union — that we should set "aside a region just for them that would be considered sovereign and autonomous."

Fortunately, the abnormal thinking of dividing 50 states into 50 nations, or just the West from East, is much less than Wade Marshall Miller of the Utah Sovereignty Society believes ("Sign and be free," Forum, Nov. 28).

We who love America know that together we're strong; separate, we're ridiculously, hopelessly defeated (imagine travel passports to cross state lines).

Instead of letting go of big Texas (as Christensen proposed), let's give the secessionists the Oklahoma Panhandle and subvert TV and radio transmission in the seceded space. They don't deserve to know what the rest of America is up to.
