It might be warm and sunny most of the weekend, but rain is coming for much of the state.

Salt Lake City stays warm and is getting warmer, with a high of 86 forecasted for Saturday and 88 on Sunday. St. George stays hot, too, with a high of 96 on Saturday and 95 on Sunday, according to the National Weather Service.

Wet weather is on its way, though.

The weather service predicts isolated to scattered showers and thunderstorms for Saturday, mainly across eastern Utah. And come Sunday, a "significant moisture surge" begins, with widespread, heavy rainfall in most areas south of Interstate 80, according to the weather service.

The weather service expects the moisture to last through Tuesday. The rains could cause flash flooding, most likely in slot canyons, normally dry washes and burn scars. Cities may experience draining issues, and most to all backcountry roads might be impassable in central and Southern Utah.

At least everyone can breathe easy: the Utah Division of Air Quality forecasts healthy air statewide, all weekend.
