'Shooting' ad in bad taste

We all spend countless hours toiling and searching for the perfect Christmas gift, but I was appalled to see an ad in The Tribune to "Give the Gift of Shooting."

I can defend anyone's right to free speech, but bad taste and bad judgment by a local retailer at the holidays should not be allowed.

Promoting hunting and self-defense is a far cry from promoting shooting. I would hope that those who saw this ad were as shocked and alarmed as I was and will act to inform The Tribune of their lack of scrutiny. This is a message that does not need to be promoted ever, let alone at the holiday season.

I thought the point of Christmas is peace on Earth, good will toward men; not good will, go kill.
