Sam Russell (Forum, July 25) argued in his letter that conflict is constant, and we must always be ready to respond. I agree.

We do have troops stationed around the globe, and it has proved to be a deterrent to aggression in most cases. The issue I have with his letter is his reference to 9/11 as not being a military operation, so to speak. Having read books, Web pages and watched documentaries about that day, it could have been nothing but a precise military operation. "Loose Change, second edition" is an 80- minute documentary that has been watched more than 10 million times and is in the top 10 on Google's video Top 100 list (Vanity Fair, August 2006 issue).

A growing body of scientists, engineers, architects, clerics, physicists and more is growing by the day and demanding answers to what happened on 9/11. I don't think that people should just blindly assume that what was reported by the 9/11 Commission is truth and factual. There is too much information available to the contrary.
