I find the full-page ad implying that older drivers are impaired after the age of 65 to be without merit. I was a volunteer for AARP teaching driver safety to members. In all the manuals the empirical studies showed that even though aging brought about many factors that could affect the ability to drive, it was shown that the majority of accidents and citations were from the ages of less than 25 years of age.

In all the studies promoting the 0.05 level of blood alcohol, there is no mention of the studies that brought about the 0.08 level to imply that the person was presumed to be affected. This effort seems to be a "knee jerk" attempt to draw attention to a meaningless program to undermine the drinking public. "If it ain't broke, don't fix it."
