A man is accused of stabbing his drinking buddy in the chest after becoming angry that they had run out of beer. In charges filed Tuesday, police wrote that the suspect threatened to beat the victim up after their beer supply was depleted Feb. 10 at 210 S. Rio Grande St., which is the address of a homeless shelter. A third person gave a knife to the suspect, who stabbed the victim in the chest, police wrote. The suspect, 34, later admitted to the stabbing, investigators wrote. He is charged with aggravated assault, a third-degree felony. - Erin Alberty
