Teacher faces prison time for sex with student

Posted: 7:13 PM- A female teacher at Hurricane High School pleaded guilty Wednesday to having sex with a 17-year-old boy who was one of her student aides.

Cris Lyn Morris, 29, was initially charged with five counts of first-degree felony rape for sexual encounters that occurred at the defendant's Washington City home between Aug. 1 and Oct. 19, 2007.

Morris pleaded guilty in 5th District Court to three lesser counts of third-degree felony unlawful sexual conduct with a 16- or 17-year-old.

She faces up to 15 years in prison when she is sentenced May 8 by Judge G. Rand Beacham. Morris, who taught history and social science, was placed on administrative leave in October.
