Updated: 10:22 AM- General manager Steve Pastorino is out at Real Salt Lake and so is John Ellinger, as head coach.

Team captain Jason Kreis will retire, and become the team's new head coach. Ellinger will be reassigned as the team's technical director/director of soccer operations. The announcement will be made at a press conference at noon today at Rice-Eccles Stadium.

Speculation has swirled for weeks about the future of Ellinger and Pastorino, in the wake of yet another poor start to the RSL season.

Although it added midfielder Freddy Adu in the offseason and touted its chances of finally making the playoffs, the team is languishing in last place of the Major League Soccer Western Conference, with only two goals and no victories in four games.

Kreis, who is 34, came to RSL in its first season in the leauge, from Dallas. He is MLS's all-time leading scorer.
