Vice president to receive honorary degree from BYU

Posted: 10:54 AM- Brigham Young University will bestow Dick Cheney with an honorary doctorate of public service Thursday when the vice president delivers the school's commencement address.

The 4 p.m. ceremony, during which 6,000 students will receive bachelor's degrees, will be broadcast live on both KBYU-TV (Channel 11) and KBYU-FM (89.1).

Graduates should arrive at the Marriott Center by 2 p.m. carrying robes and caps. The Marriott Center will open at 1 p.m. for guests to be seated. All attendees will be screened before entering and, once admitted, they will be required to remain inside the building.

Attendees and participants should review the guidelines listed on their tickets (front and back), including what items will not be allowed in the Marriott Center. Cameras and cell phones will be permitted.
