A 42-year-old Logan man apparently committed suicide Tuesday morning by stepping in front of a semitrailer on State Road 30 near the Box Elder-Cache county line.

Utah Highway Patrol spokesman Cameron Roden said the man was struck at 6:15 a.m.

His vehicle was found in a park-and-ride lot near where he was hit, and police confirmed he had been driving it.

Roden said the incident remains under investigation and no official cause of death had been determined.
