A motorcyclist died in a Saturday afternoon crash in Iron County.

Joel Macrae, 52, of Spring Creek, Nev., was riding a 1996 Harley Davidson west on State Road 143 near Brian Head, said Utah Highway Patrol spokesman Brian Hyer.

At about 2:30 p.m., Macrae's bike tipped on a curve. He came across his lane into oncoming traffic. An eastbound 2003 Mitsubishi Lancer hit the bike and ran over Macrae, who was killed.

One person in the Lancer was treated at the scene for minor injuries. All passengers were wearing seat belts.

Macrae was wearing a helmet. The accident is under investigation.
