A 19-year-old Orem man was arrested Monday in connection with the sexual abuse of the 4-year-old daughter of the woman with whom he had been living.
Court documents state that the victim's doctor suspected sexual abuse while checking for a urinary tract infection and reported the case to the Department of Children and Family Services. The child later told DCFS that the suspect forced her to engage in sexual contact.
The man initially denied the allegations to police, but later admitted to inappropriately touching the child out of curiosity while her parents were at work, police said. The abuse took place over a two-month period, they said.
The man was booked into Utah County jail and potentially faces five counts of aggravated sexual abuse of a child, first-degree felonies.
