Posted: 6:02 PM- Human remains discovered in Colorado on July 24 were apparently removed from Utah and transported there, authorities said Wednesday.

The Mesa County Coroner's Office, which examined the bones, said the remains were discovered in Utah but moved to Colorado before being reported to the local sheriff's office.

The remains were turned over to the Utah State Medical Examiner's Office.

The Mesa County Coroner's Office reported that it is illegal to move any discovered remains that may be human and that law enforcement should be notified immediately.
