After overnight temperatures in northern and central Utah dipped to near freezing, residents in the upper half of the state can expect cool autumn temperatures Sunday.

Cache Valley, the Wasatch Back and the Sanpete and Sevier valleys were areas "most prone for a frost" overnight, and unlike last week, the National Weather Service predicts milder conditions as the last week of September begins.

Salt Lake City residents can expect sunny skies with highs in the upper-60s Sunday and lows dropping to about 50 degrees overnight. Skies will remain sunny and clear through Monday, when highs will halt in the mid-70s. Temperatures will drop into the low-50s Monday night.

Southern Utahns should anticipate sunny skies Sunday with highs in the mid-80s. Winds near canyons are predicted to blow about 15 to 25 mph. Sunday night will be clear with lows in the upper-50s, while highs Monday again climb into the mid-80s. Monday night will be partly cloudy with lows about 60 degrees.
