Brewvies has sued the Utah Department of Alcoholic Beverage Control (DABC) for punishing the cinema pub over serving alcohol during screenings of "Deadpool."
Earlier this month, the DABC cited Brewvies, which faces a fine of up to $25,000 and potential revocation of its liquor license. Brewvies fired back Tuesday with a federal lawsuit filed in U.S. District Court of Utah, claiming that the theater's screening of the R-rated superhero movie is protected by the First Amendment.
On Feb. 26, undercover agents from the Utah Bureau of Investigation went to Brewvies. They ordered beer and entered the theater, according to their report.
