Utahns can expect above-normal temperatures this weekend but cooler weather is on its way to the Beehive State.

The National Weather Service is predicting highs in the low 90s along the Wasatch Front on Saturday. Farther south, St. George is expected to hit the 100-degree mark.

Sunday will be a little cooler, with northern Utah highs in the upper 80s to about 90 and St. George's temperature topping out in the mid 90s.

The air quality during the weekend should be good throughout the state, according to the Utah Division of Air Quality.

Moisture moving into southern Utah will bring scattered showers and thunderstorms to the southwest part of the state late Sunday, the weather service says. The shower activity will spread north by Monday, and the best chance of significant rainfall in western and northern Utah will be on Tuesday.

Temperatures also will fall in the early part of the week in northern Utah. Highs on Monday are expected to be in the upper 70s to low 80s and around 70 to the low 70s on Tuesday.
