Utahns might initially enjoy warm, spring temperatures, but winds buffeting the region will usher in cooler and wetter weather at the midweek.

Much of west central and southwestern Utah was under a Wind Advisory Tuesday, beginning at 11 a.m. and extending through 9 p.m. Southwest winds of 25-35 mph, with gusts topping 50 mph, were forecast for a swath of the state including the towns of Delta, Fillmore, Beaver, Cedar City and Milford.

Particularly along east-west interstates and highways, crosswinds could bring woes to drivers of high-profile vehicles, along with restricted visibility as desert dust kicks up.

Along the Wasatch Front it will be breezy, too. Winds in the 10-20 mph range were expected to usher in rain showers late Tuesday through Wednesday, with 2-4 inches of snow possible in the mountains. High temperatures on Wednesday will be in the upper-40s, a 20-degree dip from pre-storm highs on Tuesday.

Southeastern Utah's Moab, Blanding and Bluff areas will be under a Freeze Watch late Wednesday through early Thursday morning as temperatures overnight dip into the 20s.

Southern Utahns will see high temperatures near 70 degrees on Tuesday slide into the upper-50s on Wednesday. Partly cloudy skies will bring scattered rain showers, too.

The Utah Division of Air Quality gave "green," or healthy breathing grades to all areas of the state through Thursday.

Only cottonwood was "high" on the Intermountain Allergy & Asthma website pollen index as of Tuesday, with oak, maple and willow pollen warning "moderate" ratings.
