Lawsuit that accused a Provo OB-GYN of sexually abusing dozens of women is revived by Utah Supreme Court

David Broadbent was sued by 94 women, all of whom claim he sexually assaulted them during exams or while he delivered their babies.

(Trent Nelson | The Salt Lake Tribune) Plaintiffs and their supporters after the Utah Supreme Court heard an appeal in their lawsuit alleging their OB-GYN David Broadbent sexually assaulted them. The state's high court ruled Thursday that Broadbent's alleged actions did not arise out of health care, and therefore are not covered by Utah's medical malpractice law. This decision revives the women's civil lawsuit.
