Hikers find body in southern Utah desert

A decomposing body found in the southern Utah desert has been released to the state medical examiner’s office to be identified, Washington County Lt. Dave Crouse said Monday.

Hikers on the Washington Hollow Trail in Red Cliffs Desert Reserve — which is north of the Washingon City line — found the body Saturday morning, Crouse said.

Based on the clothing, investigators believe the body to be that of a man, he said.
