Each week, the TribPreps staff will choose standout performers and key numbers from the previous week’s action in Utah and showcase them. Here are this week’s picks.

The Tooele sophomore who is competing in track for the first time this season put together an impressive meet at Wednesday’s Tooele County Schools Invitational. She won the 100 meters, crossing the line in 13.13 seconds, and took first in the 200 with a 26.86. She also ran the anchor leg on the victorious 400 relay, which finished in a state-qualifying time of 50.95.

The Spanish Fork star hit four home runs in three games to help the Dons win all three. The senior cranked two homers and drove in three runs in an 8-3 win over Grantsville on Friday. She then hit a three-run homer in a 17-1 win over Snow Canyon early Saturday before delivering a grand slam in a 12-0 win over North Sanpete later in the day. She earned the win in the circle in the Grantsville and North Sanpete victories.

The number of titles Highland senior Misini Fifita won at Thursday’s All-City Meet. She took first in the discus (92 feet, 4 inches), javelin (95-0) and shot put (37-8).

The number of assists for J.J. Muniz in the Ogden boys’ soccer team’s two wins this week. He assisted on the lone goal in Wednesday’s 1-0 win over Stansbury then added three helpers in Friday’s 4-1 victory against Tooele. The junior has recorded 10 assists for the Tigers this season.

The batting average this week for Springville softball player Brittany Simpson. The senior went 4 for 4 with two doubles and a homer in Thursday’s 10-2 win over Salem Hills. She then finished 2 for 3 in Friday’s 12-5 win over Desert Hills. She scored six runs and drove in four in the two games.

The number of goals for Waterford freshman Jaimeson Meyer in the Ravens girls’ lacrosse team’s two games this week. She scored two in Monday’s 17-4 loss to Park City before netting seven in a 12-8 win over Skyline on Wednesday. She has scored 35 goals in seven games this season.
