A freshman isn’t supposed to dominate the way Begay has this season. She owned the fastest time in four swimming events for Classes 2A and 3A entering this week, according to times posted on utswimcoach.com. And she owned each one by more than 3 seconds. Her time in the 200 freestyle and 200 individual medley were the best in those classes this season, and she was the only 2A/3A swimmer to post a sub-1 minute swim in the 100 butterfly. Her 500 freestyle time was more than 19 seconds faster than the second-best time in the two classes this season.
