Pleasant Grove volleyball standout Heather Gneiting added to the list of accolades from her senior season.

Gneiting, who was the Tribune Player of the Year, was named the Gatorade Utah Volleyball Player of the Year on Tuesday.

The 6-foot-4 middle who graduated early from Pleasant Grove to begin her career at BYU finished with 319 kills, 101 blocks and 62 aces for the Vikings. Pleasant Grove lost to Lone Peak in the Class 6A state title match.

“Heather Gneiting is one of the best middles to ever come out of this state,” Syracuse coach Corrie Vigil said in a release. “She’s competitive and versatile and dominant at her position. I was impressed with her court awareness and ability to make adjustments during the match.”
