The Utah Grizzlies announced Tuesday that they made a pair of trades, acquiring forward Johnny McInnis from the Orlando Solar Bears in exchange for future considerations and onetime Grizzlies forward Kenny Ryan from the Cincinnati Cyclones in exchange for Brandon McNally and Shane Walsh.
McInnis comes to Utah from Orlando where he started the season as an alternate captain and had three goals and three assists for six points in 13 games. In his third pro season, McInnis has played in 147 ECHL games with Florida and Orlando and has 38 goals and 56 assists for 94 points. McInnis is reunited with Utah forward Erik Bradford who he was linemates with last season. Bradford assisted on seven of his 19 goals last year and they will play on the same line once again in Utah.
Ryan had two goals and one assist in three games last year with Utah while under contract with the Anaheim Ducks AHL affiliate in San Diego. In 52 career ECHL games with Reading, Utah and Cincinnati, Ryan has 21 goals and 18 assists for 39 points. He has appeared in 239 career AHL games with Toronto, Lake Erie and San Diego totaling 33 goals and 44 assists. He was originally drafted by Toronto in the second round of 2009 NHL Entry Draft.
